The buzz rating is very important in Cafe World as it determines how many customers come into your cafe. Of course, the higher the number, the greater the customers and hence more profits! :) As of now, the maximum buzz rating is 105. Happy or unhappy customers will cause your buzz rating to increase/decrease. The following is a list of what makes the customers happy or unhappy:
1) Satisfied Customer: +0.1 buzz point
2) Customer unable to find a seat: -1.0 buzz point
3) Customer doesn't get served in time: -1.0 buzz point
4) Customer sits at a dirty table (Plate not cleared) : -1.0 buzz point
As you can see, the penalty for an unhappy customer is 10 times that of a satisfied one! Therefore it is important that you reach the maximum buzz rating and maintain it. Here are some tips on how to do that.
1) Have more table & seats - To serve more customers, you need to have more seats and table! Doh! That's a no brainer! Ha. But you will find that it is quite difficult to achieve a high buzz rating in the early parts of the game as your cafe space is limited. Not to worry though, once you hit the Family Cafe, you will be able to reach the max buzz rating of 105.
Do note that there is a optimum number of tables you can have in the cafe. Anything beyond that number won't have any effects on the customers. For example, it won't make a difference if you have 15 or 20 tables in your cafe because at any one time, the maximum number of customers in your cafe will only be 15. If you are able to maintain your buzz rating, it means that you have hit the optimum number of tables.
2) Have more waiters - Another no brainer, more waiters means being able to serve your customers more effectively. However, waiters will only get unlocked as you gain experience and progress to higher levels.
3) Remove the door - Sometimes, you might just want to take a break from cafe world altogether. Maybe you are sick and tired of the cooking or maybe you got to rush for your project. Ha. :p To prevent customers from entering your cafe and also to maintain your buzz rating, you can simply sell away your door. Since customers won't be able to enter your cafe, they will not be unsatisfied and that means your buzz rating is safe. Phew..
4) Block a door with something, anything!- On occasions when you still have some food on the serving counter you may not want to close the cafe. But hey, you need to sleep and yet you are afraid your buzz rating will drop when your food runs out. What a dilemma! Not to worry though, with this trick, you can still earn coins while you are having your beauty sleep AND even when your food runs out, you will not lose any of your buzz rating.
Contrary to popular beliefs, you do not need to buy any additional chairs to block your door. Simply drag a existing chair or table from your cafe and place it in front of the door or doors if you have more then one. This way, even though your cafe appears "closed", the next time you log into the game, you will receive all the coins as though your cafe has been opened. Cool right?
Do note that when you log in again, the game will be "mysteriously" populated with some customers. (Makes you wonder how they got in? Through the windows? Ha.) You must ensure that you have something to serve to these customers or else your buzzing rating might drop a bit. One way is to make use of your free gifts if your serving counters are empty.
5) Waiters on steriods- This is a special trick in Cafe World where you intentionally block your waiters from walking about, using counters and stoves. In this way, the waiters will still be able to serve customers without walking around the cafe and they are able to do it almost instantaneously. See the video below for a step by step guide.
6) The Layout is important- The layout of your table and chairs is crucial to the success of your cafe. Make sure that access to the tables or seats are not blocked. See my other guide: Cafe World - Layout Basics for more details.
